FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between Resin Bonded and Resin Bound Application?
The resin-bound application involves covering the natural aggregate with a clear UV Resin and thoroughly mixing it together to ensure that each individual piece of stone is completely covered in Resin. Once the mixture is ready, it is then applied immediately to a stable surface to a depth of 18mm. When the resin is applied and cured it will allow the excess water to permeate straight through it.
The resin Bonded method consists of applying a film of resin directly onto the surface and then scattering dry aggregate over the top of it. Once it has cured, any excess stone is swept away, leaving a natural textured finish. The size of the stone used for this technique ranges from 1mm -6mm and the finished surface will average 3-5mm in depth.
How much does it cost?
Each project is individually priced and dependent on the location, size of the area, application type and stone choice. Please contact us with this information and we will be more than happy to provide you with a free quotation over the phone.
Are they both Porous/Permeable?
No! Our Resin Bound Surfaces are completely porous and SUDS compliant, whereas a Resin Bonded surface is non-permeable and does not meet SUDS requirements. Â
We only specialise in Resin bound applications.
Is it easy to clean?

Yes! There is no loose stone to worry about so regular sweeping and occasional power washing will keep it looking nice and clean.
How is the Resin bound surface permeable?

During the mixing process, we ensure that each individual piece of stone is completely coated in resin, allowing the stones to bond together securely, whilst creating small cavities for the water or liquid to drain through.
Will the Resin fade in the sunlight?

No. We use a special clear UV Resin to bind the aggregate together and this prevents any discolouration or fading from sunlight.
How long before I can drive my car on it?
Our resin bound surfaces are suitable for use after 12 hours for pedestrians and 48 hours for all small vehicles.Â
Our Resin Bound Surfaces with full groundworks comes with a 10-year guarantee, surfaces laid over an existing base are guaranteed for one 1-year, however, the Resin technology suggests it will last in excess of 25 years.
